A glass (and concrete) moth by artist Ana Labastida
Detail of a piece by Ana Labastida, a Mexican artist living in Berkeley, Calif., who studied art at the National Autonomous University of Mexico City. The work is on exhibit in More Photos than Bricks at the Luther W. Brady Art Gallery.
"In a show of painterly photography, Labastida's work stands out literally from the rest with a sculptural element of reused glass and concrete moths," says photographer William. "The translucent wings form chromatic shadows reminiscent of paintings by Sam Gilliam. More Photos than Bricks at the Brady gallery is a show not to be missed."
